Palakkad: One arrested in NIA raid at Pattambi Valayur. The native of Assam was arrested from Valayur Edapalam. The NIA team came with an investigation related to the recruitment of people into the terrorist organization.
National Investigation Agency raids were conducted in 16 places including Kerala, Assam and West Bengal. The NIA team reached Pattambi Valayaur in Kerala in the morning. The search at Valayur was also conducted as part of a nationwide raid to investigate cross-border terrorist activities and recruitment. The NIA nabbed the Assam native from a rented house in Edappalam. The raid is reportedly part of an investigation into cross-border terrorist activity linked to the 'Imam Mahmud Kafila', a suspected offshoot of the banned outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh.
The action is related to the allegation of trying to attract youth to terrorist ideas. The Assam native involved in this case came to Kerala as a laborer and used to work in a chicken farm in Edappalam. He lives in a rented house with his family. The NIA team arrested him from here. He was produced before the Pattambi court and then taken to the NIA for further action. Apart from Valayaur in Kerala, raids were also conducted at five places in Bengal and ten places in Assam.
