PALAKKAD: CPM Palakkad District Secretary E.N. Suresh Babu has been removed from his post. This unexpected action was taken during the ongoing expanded CPM district committee meeting in Palakkad. Former MLA from Kollengode and senior leader V. Chendamarakshan is the new district secretary.
The party leadership took this stern step following strong criticism against E.N. Suresh Babu's working style, including from district committee members themselves.
The meeting was held in the presence of the state leadership.
This is a completely unusual step in the Palakkad district unit, one that has not been witnessed in any other district where expanded district committees convened. The leadership intervened swiftly and brought about the change following intense organizational failures and growing discontent within the party.
