36 years rigorous imprisonment for the accused in the case of torturing an 11-year-old boy

Palakad: In the case of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy, the accused was sentenced to 36 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2.20 lakh. Palakkad Fast Track Special Pok‌So Court Judge M. Sindhu Thangam gave the punishment.

The accused in the case is Khalid (50) of Pirairi Pantapulakkal house, Mappilakad. If the fine is not paid, he will have to undergo two and a half years of additional rigorous imprisonment.

Palakkad Town North Police Ins‌Pector VK. Vinod Valiyatoor registered the case, investigated and submitted the charge sheet. ASI Kaladharan assisted the investigating officer.

The prosecution has examined 26 witnesses and produced 37 documents in the case. National Public Prosecutor c. Ramika appeared for the prosecution. ASI Sati, C.P.O. and Sabita coordinated the prosecution proceedings.

In addition to the fine, the court also ordered to provide additional financial assistance to Atijeevte.
