Shornur: A native of Pattambi has been arrested in the case of stealing lakhs of rupees and gold ornaments from a young woman from Mumbai by taking her to various places and torturing her with a promise of marriage. Muhammad Ameer (Ameer) was arrested by the Shornur police at Mele Pattambi Alikal house.
The relevant events took place between 2019 and 2026. Muhammad met Amir through the girl's friend. The information in the FIR states that the young woman was then brought to Kerala with a promise of marriage and sexually assaulted several times by taking her to various lodges and houses in Alappuzha and Shornur.
Hidden information about being married
Muhammad Amir, who is currently married and father of two children, got close to the young woman by hiding this information. The accused took 43 lakh rupees from the woman and five pavan worth of gold ornaments (four gold bangles, two rings and earrings) from the woman on the pretense that it was for business purposes. The woman was staying near Shornoor Icon Hospital.
Complaint and Arrest
The woman became suspicious when Amir did not pick up her phone calls after paying the money. During the subsequent investigation, the woman came to know that Amir has family and business establishments in Pattambi. Following this, the woman went directly to the Shornur police and filed a complaint. Police registered a case based on the woman's complaint and arrested the accused. Police informed that further investigation is going on in the case.
