Under the banner of "Operation Kalikkalam," the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) carried out simultaneous surprise inspections across district sports council offices throughout Kerala, including the Palakkad District Sports Council office.
The raid was initiated following specific intelligence reports regarding irregularities in sports equipment procurement, athlete hostel diet allowances, tournament sanctioning funds, and maintenance expenditures.
During the multi-hour inspection, vigilance sleuths verified stock registers, vendor billing vouchers, cash books, and athlete beneficiary lists. Officials stated that a detailed report highlighting procedural lapses and financial audit findings will be submitted to the government for further departmental and disciplinary action.
