Nelliampathi, popularly known as the 'Poor Man's Ooty', is a picturesque hill resort situated southwest of Palakkad at an altitude of 467 to 1572 meters above sea level.

1. Hairpin journey from Nenmara

The journey to Nelliampathi starts from Nenmara. The famous Pothundi Dam located midway is one of the oldest mandams (made of sugar and lime) in India. After the dam and climbing the hill through 23 hairpin bends, you can see the amazing view of the Palakkad paddy fields spread below.

2. Sitarkund Viewpoint

Sitarkund has a legend that Sri Rama, Lakshmana and Sita Devi lived here during their exile. A steep gorge hundreds of feet deep and a waterfall falling into a deep valley‌are awe-inspiring for the tourists who come here. If the weather is favorable, you can see up to Pollachi and Palani regions of Tamil Nadu from here.

3. Organic Orange Orchards and Tea Groves

The wealth of Nelliampathi is tea, coffee, cardamom and orange plantations that started from the time of the British. Many people come here to buy fresh oranges and pure honey.
