Lakidi: A 12-year-old girl tragically died in a collision between a private bus and a scooter in Lakidi, Palakkad. Fiya Fatima (12) who was a scooter passenger died on the spot.

This morning around 10 o'clock a tragedy happened that shocked the country. A private bus coming from Palakkad towards Ottapalam hit the back of a scooter traveling in the same direction.

There were five people on the scooter when the accident took place. Fiya Fatima's father Aasif (36), mother Sumayya (33) and two siblings were in the vehicle.

Four other people injured in the accident were immediately admitted to a private hospital in Kanniyampura. More information about their injuries is becoming available. The police have started an investigation into the incident.
