Mangalamdam: An adivasi, a plantation worker, was found murdered in Kunchiyarpati. Kunchiyarpati Ramaswamy (53) died. Olipara Kalchadi Rugmani (26), who was staying with him, was taken into custody by the Mangalamdam police.

The dead body was found in a private person's garden house at Mangalamdam Kadapara Pothanthot. Ramaswamy and Rugmani had been living together for the past one year. Both of them were previously married. Both of them, belonging to the tribal community, had been staying and working in this plantation house for the past three months.

Murder following a drunken argument

There was a fight between Ramaswamy and Rugmani during drinking on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, Rugmani hit Ramaswamy on the head with a hammer, police said. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning. Rugmani himself informed the workers of the nearby plantation.

After getting the information, Mangalamdam police reached the spot and took Rugmani into custody and interrogated him. Rugmani has confessed to the police that he committed the murder. After police inquest, Ramaswamy's body was shifted to Thrissur Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
