Palakad: Three people, including local secretary Brijesh, were suspended from the party after the leaders were drunk in the Mudalamada CPM local committee office. The incident became controversial when the footage of local secretary Brijesh drinking while sitting in the party office emerged. The activists were questioning the drinking inside the party office and brought it to the leadership's attention along with the footage. 

 

Videos of the local secretary grabbing the workers who came to question him about alcohol consumption were also released. It is reported that Brijesh's reply was that it was his private room and he could do anything there.

 

Party workers had lodged a complaint with the leadership demanding action against Brijesh in the incident. Following this, suspension action was taken against three people including the local secretary.
