Palakkad: Doctors at Palakkad Government Medical College have ended their strike. In a press release issued by the medical college authorities, it has been announced that steps have been taken to address the various demands raised by the striking doctors.
The authorities stated that medicines are available 24 hours a day in the emergency department. X-Ray, ECG and Pharmacy are also arranged for 24 hours. For this purpose, three additional employees have been appointed from September 4. The press release also said that special government permission has been obtained for immediate recruitment of additional employees through walk-in interviews.
The authorities also informed that the X-Ray machine has been set up. The resignation letters of the hospital administration authorities who submitted their resignations have been sent to the government for further action.
The authorities also stated that a memo was given to the employees of the hospital on September 3 who had failed in their work. It has also been decided to form a committee comprising union, HAS and PTA representatives to monitor the functioning of the emergency department.
Medical college officials also informed that they have discussed with the concerned authorities for further steps to purchase and install the machine.
